This is the role
As Global Sourcing and Procurement Director, your role is to lead and execute the sourcing and procurement efforts on a strategic and tactical level. You will be responsible for supporting Haarslev to achieve its business objectives by ensuring access to the highest quality inputs at the best possible price, while also promoting ethical and sustainable sourcing practice.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Lead, facilitate and implement the sourcing and procurement strategy globally.
- Manage a global Sourcing and procurement team.
- Address any existing supply chain issues, including delays, quality control problems, or other disruptions that may be impacting Haarslev’ s ability to meet production goals.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as geopolitical instability, transportation disruptions, or other factors that could impact the availability or cost of materials.
- Ensure procurement processes and practices align with the company's sustainability goals.
- Streamline sourcing processes and develop strategies for achieving economies of scale, to improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiate contracts that provide Haarslev with the best value for its money.
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the sourcing function, to drive positive change and deliver better outcomes for Haarslev.
You will report directly to the COO and work as a part of the Operations Team. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with other functions within Haarslev, including production, quality, and logistics, to ensure materials are delivered to sites in a timely and efficient manner.
Some travel activity will be expected for this position.
This is you
- Ideally you have a master’s degree in e.g. Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Admin or a long career of successful procurement and sourcing management - or similar.
- You have extensive work experience from an international company in manufacturing or similar.
- You possess a strong strategic understanding, that enables you to not only execute, but also form our sourcing and procurement strategy going forward.
- You have strong leadership skills – ability to bring out the best in the team.
- You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Danish.
- You thrive by working in a changing environment with a wide range of different stakeholders placed in different locations.
- You are a big picture thinker who have a continuous improvement mindset.
